World Trade Center Secret Report - Yahoo News

WASHINGTON (AP) — Amid the clamor a year ago to release 28 still-secret pages of a congressional inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks, the government quietly declassified a little-known report listing more than three dozen people who piqued the interest of investigators probing possible Saudi connections to the hijackers.
The document, known as "File 17," offers clues to what might be in the missing pages of the bipartisan report about 9/11.
"Much of the information upon which File 17 was written was based on what's in the 28 pages," said former Democratic Sen. Bob Graham of Florida, co-chairman of the congressional inquiry. He believes the hijackers had an extensive Saudi support system while they were in the United States.
"File 17 said, 'Here are some additional unanswered questions and here is how we think the 9/11 Commission, the FBI and the CIA should go about finding the answers,'" Graham said.
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir denies any allegations of Saudi complicity, telling reporters in Washington earlier this month that there is "no there there."
Former President George W. Bush classified the 28-page chapter to protect intelligence sources and methods, although he also probably did not want to upset U.S. relations with Saudi Arabia, a close U.S. ally. Two years ago, under pressure from the families of those killed or injured on Sept. 11, and others, President Barack Obama ordered a declassification review of the 28 pages. It's unclear when all or some may be released.
The report by the two researchers, one of several commission documents the National Archives has reviewed and released, lists possible leads the commission could follow, the names of people who could be interviewed and documents the commission might want to request in looking deeper into the attacks.
File 17, first disclosed by 28pages.org, an advocacy website, names people the hijackers were in contact with in the United States before the attacks. Some were Saudi diplomats, raising questions about whether Saudi officials knew about the plot.
The 9/11 Commission's final report stated that it found "no evidence that the Saudi government as an institution or senior Saudi officials individually funded" al-Qaida. "This conclusion does not exclude the likelihood that charities with significant Saudi government sponsorship diverted funds to al-Qaida," the report said.
Releasing the 28 pages might answer some questions, but the disclosure also could lead to more speculation about the key Saudi figures investigated by the U.S. after the attacks. A look at some of those named in the declassified report and what the 9/11 Commission concluded:
___
FAHAD AL-THUMAIRY
An imam at the King Fahad Mosque in Culver City, California, al-Thumairy was suspected of helping two of the hijackers after they arrived in Los Angeles. He was an accredited diplomat at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Los Angeles from 1996 to 2003.
The 9/11 Commission said al-Thumairy reportedly led an extremist faction at the mosque. He has denied promoting jihad and told U.S. investigators that he never helped the hijackers.
The commission said al-Thumairy met at the consulate with Omar al-Bayoumi, a Saudi national, in February 2000 just before al-Bayoumi met the two hijackers at a restaurant. Al-Thumairy denied knowing al-Bayoumi even though the two talked on the phone numerous times as early as 1998, including more than 11 calls between Dec. 3-20, 2000. Al-Bayoumi told investigators those conversations were about religious matters.
The 9/11 Commission said that despite the circumstantial evidence, "We have not found evidence that al-Thumairy provided assistance to the two operatives."
A CIA document dated March 19, 2004, said Khallad bin Attash, an al-Qaida operative and suspected planner of the USS Cole bombing in Yemen in October 2000, was in Los Angeles for two weeks in June 2000 and was seen in the company of "Los Angeles-based Sunni extremists (redacted section) Fahad al-Thumairy."
On May 6, 2003, al-Thumairy tried to return to the U.S. from Saudi Arabia, but was refused entry on suspicion he might be connected with terrorist activity.
___
OMAR AL-BAYOUMI
A Saudi national who helped the two hijackers in California. Al-Bayoumi told investigators that he and another man drove to Los Angeles from San Diego so that he could address a visa issue and collect papers at the Saudi consulate. Afterward they went to the restaurant in Culver City where he heard the two hijackers speaking in what he recognized to be Gulf Arabic and struck up a conversation with them.
The hijackers told him they didn't like Los Angeles, and al-Bayoumi invited them to move to San Diego. He helped them find and lease an apartment.
The congressional researchers' report said: "Al-Bayoumi has extensive ties to the Saudi government and many in the local Muslim community in San Diego believed that he was a Saudi intelligence officer."
The 9/11 Commission said al-Bayoumi was officially employed by Ercan, a subsidiary of a contractor for the Saudi Civil Aviation Administration. The commission also said that a fellow employee described al-Bayoumi as a "ghost employee," noting that he was one of many Saudis on the payroll who was not required to work.
He left the United States in August 2001, weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks.
The 9/11 Commission said it did not "know whether the lunch encounter occurred by chance or by design." The commission said its investigators who spoke with him and studied his background found him to be an "unlikely candidate for clandestine involvement" with Islamic extremists.
___
OSAMA BASSNAN
A close associate of al-Bayoumi who was in frequent contact with the hijackers and lived in an apartment complex across the street from them in San Diego. Bassnan vocally supported Osama bin Laden.
The staffers' found that Bassnan, a former employee of the Saudi government's educational mission in Washington, received considerable funding from Princess Haifa al-Faisal, wife of Prince Bandar bin Sultan, former intelligence chief in Saudi Arabia and the kingdom's U.S. ambassador from 1983 to 2005. The money was supposedly for Bassnan's wife's medical treatments, and the 9/11 Commission said there was no evidence the money was redirected toward terrorism.
___
MOHDHAR ABDULLAH
The staffers' report said Abdullah translated for the two hijackers and helped them open bank accounts and contact flight schools. Interviewed many times by the FBI, Abdullah said he knew of the two hijackers' extremist views but said he did not know what they were planning.
The 9/11 Commission said: "During a post 9/11 search of his possessions, the FBI found a notebook (belonging to someone else) with references to planes falling from the sky, mass killing and hijacking. Further, when detained as a material witness following the 9/11 attacks, Abdullah expressed hatred for the U.S. government and stated that the U.S. brought 'this' on themselves."
The commission also learned of reports that Abdullah bragged to other inmates at a California prison in the fall of 2003 that he knew the hijackers were planning an attack — reports the commission nor the FBI were not able to verify.
He was deported to Yemen in May 2004 after the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of California declined to prosecute him on charges arriving out alleged comments made in prison.

Why The World Trade Center Collapsed

"Heat was a factor in the collapse of The World Trade Center. The heat generated by the burning jet fuel resulted in expansion and thus weakening of the steel superstructure. Coupled with the intense pressure of the burn, the building began to collapse. The weight of the collapsing structure created additional weight on the lower floors, eventually resulting in the collapse of the entire structure.

We cannot be blind that steel has it's shortfalls. While wood will ignite at between 400 and 600 degree's, steel will start losing strength at around 600 degrees and loses 40 percent of of its strength at 1,100 degree's, well within the temperature's that develop in common fires. Though wood will burn, the sheer mass of wood needed to match the strength of steel in any given construction project could mean that a wooden structure will withstand a fire longer." Introduction To Security. 8th Edition, Chapter 12, 9.2 Vulnerability of Fire, page 262.

I also will add building's were not constructed to withstand Large Jet Airliners that weigh several tons with tons of jet fuel crashing into them at hundreds of miles per hour, es building's that sway or earthquake resistant ones and all other buildings, structural integrity is compromised from the force of the crash alone.

Missing Flight 370: Al Qaeda link explored as 11 terror suspects arrested

True theory or from a conspiracy nut? You decide! v

"As I have been saying for weeks and predicting they will not find the plane because the authorities deliberately blew it up as soon as it illegally turned from north to west. The reason why they did it was because its two Muslim pilots were on a suicide run. Learning from the actions of the four Muslim pilots in the 911 attacks, the authorities look for the actions of pilots which indicate a suicide run:

1. They cut off all voice communications
2. They disabled all electronics and tracking systems
3. They illegally changed course

The older pilot was angry at his Muslim government because his best friend, a politician, was put in jail for sodomy and the younger pilot was a religious nut who prayed in the mosque everyday. Once the plane changed course the authorities had 20 minutes before it would crash into downtown Kuala Lumpur and its giant Petronas Twin Towers. So the decision was made to destroy the pane then have it crash into the towers. The wreckage was quickly collected and all the search planes and ships were sent thousands of miles away on a wild goose chase.

Recently a pilot from Ethiopia hijacked a plane to Switzerland. Although the plane was followed by fighter jets, it was not shot down because the pilot maintained voice communications and did not disable the electronics. It also remained on course. If he did any of the tricks the pilots on the Malaysian flight, I am sure it would been blasted out of the sky.." -

Missing Malaysian Flight MH370 oddities...

Regarding missing Malaysian airliner Flight MH 370:

"OK - So - Let's rule some stuff out.

1. Suicide is out. The pilot could just ditch the plane - with no need to disable anything.
2. Terrorism is out. No one has come forward to take credit for the lost plane. And, if you wanted to destroy the plane, you just crash it.
3. Theft of the plane for money is out. If money were that important to you, you could extort hundreds of times more than the value of the plane by holding the passengers hostage.
4. Theft of the plane for technology is out. You can just buy one.
5. Military seizure of the plane to arrest political criminals is out. After the targets were acquired and in custody, the rest of the passengers would be sent home.
6. Communicable diseases: Perhaps there was an outbreak of some airborne and deadly virus on the flight. The pilots turned the plane around and headed for the most remote areas of the Earth to keep the disease from spreading. But this does not explain radio silence.
7. Theft of the plane to pack it full of nukes to fly into a major city under the guise of a different plane. U.S. satellites have the ability to track and recognize radiation signatures of nukes. The plane would be shot out of the sky before it reached U.S. airspace. This theory does not explain why no passenger used satellite phone technology to call someone and blow the whistle.
What more should be on this list of Rule-Outs?

List of oddities:

1. Complete radio and telephone silence - last words heard: goodnight tower (no stress or concern in voice). Technological know-how and ability to disable communication systems is extreme - and the pilots should have been able to communicate using alternate forms of communication as systems began failing.
2. Disappearance from all area national radars
3. Disappearance occurred on a calm night.
4. All passengers and crew are cleared of terrorist suspicion
5. Pilots are cleared of suicidal tendencies
What other Oddities need to be included?

I have to admit - this has me stumped".-Via yahoo news commentator Torrent

Report: Ship detects "pulse" signal in search for jet airliner MH370 - CBS News

PERTH, Australia -- "
A Chinese ship involved in the hunt for the missing Malaysian jetliner reported hearing a "pulse signal" Saturday in Indian Ocean waters with the same frequency emitted by the plane's data recorders.

China's official Xinhua News Agency said a black box detector deployed by the ship, Haixun 01, picked up a signal at 37.5 kilohertz (cycles per second). However, Xinhua said it had not yet been determined whether the signal was related to the missing plane, citing the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center.

Malaysia's civil aviation chief, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, confirmed that the frequency emitted by Flight 370's black boxes was 37.5 kilohertz.

Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, Chief Coordinator of the Joint Agency Coordination Center -- the Australian government agency coordinating the search -- said Saturday the Haixun's report of electronic pulse signals could not be verified at this time. U.S. officials from the NTSB and FAA were not able to confirm the report, either.

Houston also said the report of a number of white objects on the water's surface about 90 kilometers from the signal detection area could not be confirmed to be related to the missing plane.
The deployment of Royal Australian Air Force assets to the area where the Chinese ship detected the sounds is being considered, Houston said."

Officials Say Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane 'Ended in the Southern Indian Ocean' -ABC News/yahoo

Very sad news to report:

New satellite data reveals that missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 "ended" its journey in a "remote location" of the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said today.

"This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean," a somber Razak said during a media briefing.

The jet vanished March 8 with 289 people on board after it took off from Kuala Lampur bound for Beijing.

The announcement follows weeks of searches that spanned the South China Sea, Strait of Malacca and finally the south Indian Ocean off of Australia as authorities tried to figure out what happened to the plane.

Why I Think It’s Very Possible That the Missing Airliner Is in Central Asia - Slate.com

"I’ve been covering the story of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 for four days now, and it’s settled into a rhythm. Every day, new evidence points to a conclusion that beforehand would have seemed laughably absurd. We publish an analysis of the situation that seems most likely to us. Readers scoff. Further evidence emerges that reinforces the once-crazy notion, and some proportion of the doubters come around. Then even more implausible information turns up, and it’s off the to the fringes again.

My post from this morning
, in which I asserted that the plane is most likely in western China or an adjacent Turkic area, stands out for having received an extra measure of skepticism. “Impossible,” many have declared, in comments and over Twitter. So I’d like to go back and further explain my logic in coming to the conclusion I did.

The first thing I want to make absolutely clear is that my entire premise is based on today’s statement by the Malaysian Prime Minister, and the accompanying chart showing two arcs where the Malaysians believe MH370 happened to be when the ping was detected by satellite at 8:10 a.m., Malaysia time. If that assertion does not hold up, then everything I’m about to say falls apart..."

Malaysia Airlines missing plane families dragged away by security; satellite data in Australia could hold plane’s location

news.com.au reports:

"CHAOS has broken out at the media centre for missing flight MH370 after distraught Chinese family members of those on board the plane arrived to protest to Malaysian authorities.

It came just before Malaysian authorities held a press conference where they revealed files were recently deleted from the flight simulator of the pilot aboard the missing plane.
Frustration boiled over for the anguished families who have travelled from Beijing in a bid to get more information.

The relatives came to the media centre at the Sama Sama hotel at Kuala Lumpur airport carrying a protest banner.

They were then dragged away by Malaysian security staff to a room with officials, with the area then erupting into chaos.

The protest banner being brandished by the relatives accused the Malaysian government of hiding the truth, wasting time and failing to find the missing jetliner.

A relative of one of the Chinese passengers appears to have been knocked to the ground in a stampede as police tried to stop relatives of family members from speaking to international media.

Minister of Defence and Acting Minister of Transport Hishammuddin Hussein tonight said local and international experts have been recruited to examine the pilot’s flight simulator.

“Some data has been deleted from the simulator and forensic work to retrieve this data is ongoing,” he said.

Report: Chinese site may show plane debris images

"KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Satellite images on a Chinese government website show suspected debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner floating off the southern tip of Vietnam, near the plane's original flight path, China's Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday.

The revelation could provide searchers with a focus that has eluded them since the plane disappeared with 239 people aboard early Saturday.

The Xinhua report said the images from around 11 a.m. on Sunday appear to show "three suspected floating objects" of varying sizes, the largest about 24 meters (79 feet) by 22 meters (72 feet)."
