Washington State Bigfoot?
Received with permission to repost: "We live in the Pacific Northwest on the Quimper Peninsula in Washington State. Twice now, we have spotted a creature that is about just shy of four and a half feet tall, bipedal with a terrible screeching sound. It sounds like a monkey. It is much larger than any raccoon we've ever seen, though at first that was what our logical minds told us it was. We only see it in the very early hours of the morning. My hound dog, who y usually have to keep from chasing an animal of any sort, is frightened of this one and when he encounters that he will run as fast as he can back to our door."

Loveland Frog Encounter
Loveland Frog/Reptoids (also see Clark, Encyclopedia of Extraordinary Encounters)
"These amphibious anomalies have shocked and terrified both business men, farmers and police officers and remain one of the most intriguing cryptozoological mysterious in the United States.
One of the most intriguing cases we here at American Monsters have encountered during our many long hours of cryptozoological research is that of the Loveland Frogmen. The story of these unique creatures begins in May of 1955, on a lonely stretch of road that runs along the Little Miami River in Clermont County, just on the outskirts of a small town known as Loveland, Ohio.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., an unnamed business man claimed to have witnessed three, bipedal, quasi-reptilian entities congregating by the side of the road. The man pulled his car to the curb and observed these creatures for what he estimated to be about three minutes.
During this time he noticed that these strange beings stood between 3 and 4-feet tall, were covered with leathery skin, and had webbed hands and feet. Their most distinguishing characteristic, however, was their distinctly “frog-like” heads, which the man claimed bore deep wrinkles where there hair should have been.
Just as the man was about to steal away, one of the creatures suddenly held what the witness could only describe as a “wand” above its head. The anonymous source further claimed that sparks spewed out of the end of this device. Needless to say, he left posthaste.
Thus begins the bizarre legend of the Loveland Frog Men. This tale would be fascinating enough if it ended there, but the two most significant encounters in this case — and indeed two of the most significant encounters in the annals of cryptozoology — were yet to come.
At about 1:00 am., on March 3, 1972 — nearly 17 years after the first report — a police officer (who understandably chose to remain anonymous) was traveling along Riverside Road heading towards Loveland when he saw something that would forever change his life.
The officer claimed that he was driving slowly, due to the substantial amount of ice on the road, when he saw what looked like a dog by the curb.
Suddenly, the animal darted in front of the cruiser, forcing the officer to slam on the brakes in order to avoid a potential collision with the creature. Once the police cruiser came to a halt, its headlights fell upon the prone animal; at this point the officer describes something that seems literally too bizarre to be true.
In the span of seconds this crouched, frog-like creature, stood on two legs, stared back at the police man, then scrambled over the guard rail and scurried down the embankment, finally disappearing into the Little Miami River.
The officer in question described the creature as being 3 to 4-feet tall and weighing in the area of 50 to 75 pounds. He also claimed that its skin had a leathery texture and that the animal’s features resembled those of a frog or lizard. Another officer investigated the scene later that evening. He saw no sign of the creature, but reported that there were distinct “scratch” marks on the guard rail where the animal purportedly crossed.
The second sighting occurred two weeks later while police officer Mark Mathews had an encounter of his own. According to the report officer Mathews, while driving into Loveland, spotted what he believed to be an injured animal lying on the pavement. Mathews climbed out of his cruiser with the intention of removing the carcass from the already ice slicked road, when the creature abruptly lurched upwards into a “crouched” position.
Taken aback by the Frog Man’s Reptilian visage, Mathews unholstered his revolver and took a shot at the creature, which then proceeded to hobble over to the side of the road and step over the guardrail — all the while keeping a watchful eye on the trigger-happy officer. Mathews’ “Frogman” matched the first officer’s description down to the last detail, with the exception of a tail, which was absent in earlier reports.
In the years which have followed these events, Officer Mathews has reneged somewhat on his tale. He now claims that the animal in question was nothing more than a large reptile, which likely escaped from its owner. He further insists that the only reason he shot at the creature was to help confirm a fellow officer’s story — a story which was, of course, being met with predictable skepticism by their superiors.
Whether or not Mathews’ change of heart was inspired by ridicule or the fading memory of an event from which he was 30-years removed, the fact remains that his own testimony counter indicates his later retraction.
Later that same year an anonymous farmer reported sighting four bizarre creatures while inspecting his fields, which were located adjacent to the Little Miami River.
The farmer claimed that the eyes of the Frogmen were large and circular, their skin was a “pale greenish-gray” and, perhaps most disturbingly, that their mouths were wide and filled with sharp teeth. Thankfully, instead of attacking the poor man the mini-monsters stayed true to form and made their escape back into the river, from where they have yet to be seen again.
Arguably the most intriguing aspect of this case is the apparent use of a technological device (the sparking wand) in the earliest reported encounter with these creatures. It has led some investigators to suggest that these beasts many not be just anomalous animals, but intelligent beings — possibly from OUT OF THIS WORLD.
indescribable_octoman_rob_morphy_2015Although there have been no confirmed sightings of the Loveland Frogmen in almost 40-years, the Ohio River — and it’s tributaries like the Little Miami and Licking Rivers — remain some of the most prolific cryptozoological “hotspots” in the continental United States. In fact the same waters are said to be the home of a bizarre creature known as the INDESCRIBABLE OCTO-MAN.
Although there have been relatively few sightings — in comparison to HAIRY HOMINDS for example — of semi-aquatic creatures like the Loveland Frogmen, the THETIS LAKE MONSTER or the GREEN CLAWED BEAST, investigators should (and hopefully will) continue to look into these benchmark cryptozoology cases."

Bigfoot Arm Found?
"I wanted to share my story with you guys in hopes that maybe someone on here has heard about it and possibly has some more info then I have. This sorry takes place about 20 years ago in Coshocton county Ohio. My father came home from work, sat his lunch box down on the table and pulled out a photo copied piece of paper. One photo on the paper contained an arm from about the elbow down to the finger tips. The arm was starting to decay but you were still able to tell what it was. You were able to see bone, skin and muscle.
The skin that was intact was covered in a dark thick hair. There was a second photo on the paper of just the hand and fingers next to a tape measure. The fingers alone were 9 inches in length and were very human like in appearance.
The second part of the story takes place about 10 years ago. I was at work and on my lunch break when the foreman and started to have a conversation about Bigfoot. I don't remember what sparked the conversation but, I started to tell him about the picture my father had brought home when I was a boy. Before I could even finish, he interrupted me and said, " that's my buddy that found that. He has that arm locked up now in his freezer just waiting for someone to come along that can do something with it." At that point our break was over and nothing else was said about it.
I cant be sure if the arm was found in Coshocton county or, one of the surrounding counties. From what I remember, I was told it was found in a field or and apple orchard. I asked my father about it a few years back but his memory is worse then mine and couldn't remember all the details but he did recall the photos. I wish that I knew more about it but this is all I have to share."

Possible Bigfoot Encounters/Abductions
Taken from Reddit - no sleep:
"wasn't sure where else to post these stories, so I figured I'd share them here. I've been an SAR officer for a few years now, and along the way I've seen some things that I think you guys will be interested in.
•I have a pretty good track record for finding missing people. Most of the time they just wander off the path, or slip down a small cliff, and they can't find their way back. The majority of them have heard the old 'stay where you are' thing, and they don't wander far. But I've had two cases where that didn't happen. Both bother me a lot, and I use them as motivation to search even harder on the missing persons cases I get called on. The first was a little boy who was out berry-picking with his parents. He and his sister were together, and both of them went missing around the same time. Their parents lost sight of them for a few seconds, and in that time both the kids apparently wandered off. When their parents couldn't find them, they called us, and we came out to search the area. We found the daughter pretty quickly, and when we asked where her brother was, she told us that he'd been taken away by 'the bear man.' She said he gave her berries and told her to stay quiet, that he wanted to play with her brother for a while. The last she saw of her brother, he was riding on the shoulders of 'the bear man' and seemed calm. Of course, our first thought was abduction, but we never found a trace of another human being in that area. The little girl was also insistent that he wasn't a normal man, but that he was tall and covered in hair, 'like a bear', and that he had a 'weird face.' We searched that area for weeks, it was one of the longest calls I've ever been on, but we never found a single trace of that kid. The other was a young woman who was out hiking with her mom and grandpa. According to the mother, her daughter had climbed up a tree to get a better view of the forest, and she'd never come back down. They waited at the base of the tree for hours, calling her name, before they called for help. Again, we searched everywhere, and we never found a trace of her. I have no idea where she could possibly have gone, because neither her mother or grandpa saw her come down.
•A few times, I've been out on my own searching with a canine, and they've tried to lead me straight up cliffs. Not hills, not even rock faces. Straight, sheer cliffs with no possible handholds. It's always baffling, and in those cases we usually find the person on the other side of the cliff, or miles away from where the canine has led us. I'm sure there's an explanation, but it's sort of strange.
•One particularly sad case involved the recovery of a body. A nine-year-old girl fell down an embankment and got impaled on a dead tree at the base. It was a complete freak accident, but I'll never forget the sound her mother made when we told her what had happened. She saw the body bag being loaded into the ambulance, and she let out the most haunting, heart-broken wail I've ever heard. It was like her whole life was crashing down around her, and a part of her had died with her daughter. I heard from another SAR officer that she killed herself a few weeks after it happened. She couldn't live with the loss of her daughter.
•I was teamed up with another SAR officer because we'd received reports of bears in the area. We were looking for a guy who hadn't come home from a climbing trip when he was supposed to, and we ended up having to do some serious climbing to get to where we figured he'd be. We found him trapped in a small crevasse with a broken leg. It was not pleasant. He'd been there for almost two days, and his leg was very obviously infected. We were able to get him into a chopper, and I heard from one of the EMTs that the guy was absolutely inconsolable. He kept talking about how he'd been doing fine, and when he'd gotten to the top, a man had been there. He said the guy had no climbing equipment, and he was wearing a parka and ski pants. He walked up to the guy, and when the guy turned around, he said he had no face. It was just blank. He freaked out, and ended up trying to get off the mountain too fast, which is why he'd fallen. He said he could hear the guy all night, climbing down the mountain and letting out these horrible muffled screams. That story bothered the hell out of me. I'm glad I wasn't there to hear it.
•One of the scariest things I've ever had happen to me involved the search for a young woman who'd gotten separated from her hiking group. We were out until late at night, because the dogs had picked up her scent. When we found her, she was curled up under a large rotted log. She was missing her shoes and pack, and she was clearly in shock. She didn't have any injuries, and we were able to get her to walk with us back to base ops. Along the way, she kept looking behind us and asking us why 'that big man with black eyes' was following us. We couldn't see anyone, so we just wrote it off as some weird symptom of shock. But the closer we got to base, the more agitated this woman got. She kept asking me to tell him to stop 'making faces' at her. At one point she stopped and turned around and started yelling into the forest, saying that she wanted him to leave her alone. She wasn't going to go with him, she said, and she wouldn't give us to him. We finally got her to keep moving, but we started hearing these weird noises coming from all around us. It was almost like coughing, but more rhythmic and deeper. It was almost insect-like, I don't really know how else to describe it. When we were within site of base ops, the woman turns to me, and her eyes are about as wide as I can imagine a human could open them. She touches my shoulder and says 'He says to tell you to speed up. He doesn't like looking at the scar on your neck.' I have a very small scar on the base of my neck, but it's mostly hidden under my collar, and I have no idea how this woman saw it. Right after she says it, I hear that weird coughing right in my ear, and I just about jumped out of my skin. I hustled her to ops, trying not to show how freaked out I was, but I have to say I was really happy when we left the area that night.
•This is the last one I'll tell, and it's probably the weirdest story I have. Now, I don't know if this is true in every SAR unit, but in mine, it's sort of an unspoken, regular thing we run into. You can try asking about it with other SAR officers, but even if they know what you're talking about, they probably won't say anything about it. We've been told not to talk about it by our superiors, and at this point we've all gotten so used to it that it doesn't even seem weird anymore. On just about every case where we're really far into the wilderness, I'm talking 30 or 40 miles, at some point we'll find a staircase in the middle of the woods. It's almost like if you took the stairs in your house, cut them out, and put them in the forest. I asked about it the first time I saw some, and the other officer just told me not to worry about it, that it was normal. Everyone I asked said the same thing. I wanted to go check them out, but I was told, very emphatically, that I should never go near any of them. I just sort of ignore them now when I run into them because it happens so frequently.
I have a lot more stories, and I suppose if anyone's interested, I'll tell some of them tomorrow. If anyone has any theories about the stairs, or if you've seen them too, let me know."

Missing Thunderbird Photo Finally Solved?
"Here's a fascinating email that I received from a ShukerNature reader on 16 December 2014 (in response to my blog post re the supposed missing thunderbird photo), who very kindly gave me full permission to quote it here. I have this person's full name on file but they asked me to refer to them only by their initials here. Here is the email, which offers a very interesting potential new source for the thunderbird photo, if the photo in the programme concerned is indeed the real thunderbird photo (always assuming of course that there is one!):
"Hi there! Reading your article on the thunderbird and thought I would pass along something of interest. I also remember seeing the thunderbird photo in a book, but in the early 80s. It was something I picked up from the local library and the pic was just like the one somebody described in your comments section. Since I have always followed this story, I was really interested in an old photo shown on an episode of Wild West Tech of all places, a show hosted by David Carradine before he died. This photo showed what looked like a pteradactyl, but it was held by KNEELING civil war soldiers, not nailed to a barn. I was fascinated because it looked real so I paid attention. The episode was not about pteradactyls - ha but the photo was stuck in strangely. I cant remember which episode now, sorry, but I did look for a photo credit at the end, there was none. I googled the show to try to see it online and learn more but it was unavailable. I would love to see that pic again and learn of its origin and possible authenticity. The soldiers might also be muddying the waters for others that saw it in contrast to the barn photo. If you look into it and find any info, please share!!!! Thanks, C.F."
Has anyone seen this episode or knows where it can be viewed? Would be excellent to check it out!" Friend and author Dr. Karl Shuker via The Journal of Cryptozoology on Facebook

Mystery solved: This is the monster that ate that great white shark - Gizmodo
"It wasn't the Kraken. It wasn't Godzilla. And it wasn't even a rabid killer whale. The mysterious animal that had killed and eaten the 9-foot great white shark and had stumped scientists turned out to be a super predator feared by even apex predators like the great white shark. So what was it?
According to the researchers who investigated the puzzling case, it was a "colossal cannibal great white shark."
We found that the original YouTube video we posted this morning belongs to the documentary The Search for the Ocean's Super Predator, produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It seems that the Smithsonian Channel repackaged it into another documentary called Hunt for the Super Predator.
The documentary narrates the scientific effort to catalogue Australia's great whites and the search for the killer of this 9-foot great white that initially had bewildered the scientists. It was only after further studying the bigger migrating great whites that came into the area where the 9-footer was killed when they finally guessed the identity of the killer."

Of Prehistoric Eels and Lake Monsters - Cryptomundo
Of Prehistoric Eels and Lake Monsters
"When the paleontology community has pooh-poohed the idea of relict plesiosaurs being responsible for the identity of various sea and lake “monsters” in different places around the world, some researchers have embraced the simpler theory that these hypothetical animals may be giant eels. The giant eel theory goes as far back as famed early American naturalist Constantine Rafinesque in 1817, who proposed it for the Lake Erie monster. The theory was further fueled by a 6 foot larval eel captured off the coast of South Africa in 1930. Based on ratios of the size of the larval stages of known eel species to the adults, it was theorized this 6 foot larvae might produce a 60 foot adult.
In 1970, ichthyologist D.G. Smith produced evidence to suggest that this 6 foot larvae was probably not a true eel but a Notocanthiform fish (related to the true eels). The Notocanths have large larvae that do not have the same disparity in size with the adults, so this was taken as a defeat to the sea serpent idea for the1930 larval fish. This has been disputed by some, however."

Mountain Monsters: Kentucky Hellhound of Pike County - Cryptomundo
"Decades of folklore and eyewitness encounters collide as AIMS
travels to Pike County to investigate the Kentucky Hellhound. First
spotted in 1939 in the western heart of Hatfield and McCoy territory,
and originally written off as the delusion of backwoods moonshiners,
this enormous 500-pound canine predator is in fact alive and well,
menacing the local farming community. AIMS must act fast to capture the
creature in a huge bamboo cage trap before the cornstalks are harvested
and the Hellhound migrates for the winter season."

Can MIT Help Solve the Mystery of Bigfoot?
Image via YouTube
Matt Knapp thinks that Bigfoot research is a mess right now.
“The facts are that in terms of progress, the Bigfoot research community has ultimately made none. We are no closer now to proving these creatures exist than we were 40 years ago,” Knapp told Boston.
Knapp blames the setbacks on the digital age, and the amount of misinformation being spread in the form of photos and videos online. That, and the fact that more people seem to be trying to cash in on what they claim are legitimate Bigfoot sightings. “Self admittedly, up to this point, we have not had anything worth presenting as real evidence of this creature’s existence. If we want scientists to get involved, we have to go by their standards, not our anecdotal ones,” he said.
To help filter out the phonies and fakes all trying to make a quick buck on something he believes in, Knapp is asking those vested in Bigfoot research to rely on technology built out of MIT to prove that the truth is out there.
Knapp, who runs a blog called “Bigfoot Crossroads,” a personal site with updates about all things Sasquatch, recently stumbled upon an invention created by students and researchers in the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in Cambridge in 2012, called “Eulerian Video Magnification.”
Also:
"Already, users online have applied the MIT technology to alleged Bigfoot footage that has been floating around for decades. On March 23, a video was posted to YouTube—and later to Knapp’s blog—of one of the most infamous Sasquatch “sightings” in history. Originally shot by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin in 1967, the person that uploaded the clip applied the EVM technology to try to determine if blood pulses could be detected through the use of the software. Seeing the blood pulses on the large mammal, as it struts through the forest in the short film, could potentially tell Bigfoot researchers if, in fact, it’s the real deal."

The Search for Intelligent Life on Cryptozoology.com
So people, once again, I'm posting about Cryptozoology.com
http://www.cryptozoology.com
It's a nice site about Cryptozoology, very interesting and informative but since I was banned
due to intolerant people (often preaching tolerance for others while ignoring
their own intolerance) I was wondering if their is still intelligent life i.e. intelligent
posters and forum members on the site (I was once one, to a degree, lol)
CZ.com has been on the internet since at least 2000, maybe before then.
So does CZ.com still have intelligent life on it? In honor of NM's posts...
The results from my search/investigation are mixed, these opinions are from
reading the forums, mainly the Off Topic forum and the Evolution vs Creationism
forum and include what people remind me of
:
N. Mihalos: Good person and long time poster on CZ.com, very intelligent
imo, NM's Search for God posts/series are nice and very
informative and interesting to read. He reminds me of Spock
on Star Trek for some reason. He is a Christian btw.
NM often gets picked on from Stu P. for some reason, including being
called a liar (just like my time on CZ.com before I was banned for various
reasons) yet he continues to endure, keeping up the good fight and
great posts.
Rainbow Medicine Man: Same as NM to a degree, RMM
is also a long time forum poster with a very good sense of humor,
tolerance for most others like NM (though not all esp. Hootowl,
whom I'll get to in a short while) I enjoy reading RMM's humorous/funny
posts from time to time, some are very touching though.
RMM needs to educate himself on ID a bit more such as reading
one or two books on ID by a noted ID author; I did the same for
Evolution plus took up Zoology.
RMM is a non-theist and an animal lover btw. Reminds me of: Captain Kirk
with a good sense of humor and wisdom added, NM would be Spock and his...

Sidekick. Or possibly Yoda from Star Wars.
hroth: All around good Christian and guy like NM,
tolerant of others, intelligent and funny at times.
Reminds me of: Jesus, if he were an American in this century (really)
Note: I like hroth, RMM and NM a lot. I consider them...
The three wise men of Cryptozoology.com
On we go, people...
Cisco: The owner of the site, part moderator (I guess?)
and all around good guy that is tolerant.
Honest guy, good integrity, informative posts.
Reminds me of: Cisco brand PC products (WTF?)
Gerry Bacon: Moderator of the site, good guy,
eccentric sense of humor at times and all around
American (this is coming from a liberal that voted
for Obama, me)
Gerry had a health scare, hope he is doing ok, looks like
he is so far. I don't care for AR-15's like he does, mentioned
in one of his posts, they are Military weapons for killing large
numbers of people i.e. enemy combatants.
Let me rant about this issue for a few...
Some people in the Military and police have spoken out on assault weapons
(including some Republicans and conservatives such as Reagen) politicians
like Nixon, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and others have either banned guns
or wanted to ban them. Bush Sr. even resigned from the NRA in a famous letter
he wrote resigning from them. I hope it's not true that people i.e. men that are
gun nuts have small.... You know.
Imaginary wars (with the Government) based on fear and excuses to own deadly weapons
were never this much fun as they are now, esp. after Sandy Hook when people
should have burned AR-15's, not hogged them up, eh Gerry? Lol jk.
People have a right to life. Owning handguns, shotguns and rifles
are ok, assault weapons? Not really, imo.
But serious, as a liberal gun owner I cannot find any Cobra's, Hi Points
or Comanche revolvers, even military surplus guns are hard to find,
I can only find HER 22LR's, Derringers, Black Powder guns and that's
it, even ammo is low in stock or out of stock. Sigh.
Reminds me of: Dale from King of the Hill, to a degree but more intelligent.
Hootowl: Christian YEC that does not like The Catholic Church. Turn offs
include atheism, anti-theism (which is rampant somewhat on CZ.com's forums)
and other religions, also evolution is a major turn off for Hootowl.
His posts are often good matured but misinformed or based on
views that are not really scientific, only a few are to a degree.
Hooty, if you ever read this (and I pray you do) Sperm to Embryo
to Fetus to Baby to Child to Teenager to Adult, is this not a form
of Evolution taking place? I think it is, a good analogy anyway.
Reminds me of: VenomFangX from youtube or possibly
Kent Hovind.
Stu P: Stu is the resident skeptic (along with many others, Karl the most notable)
anti-theist, atheist and general moron of CZ.com (along with a few others who really ilk me)
who often preaches tolerance for those like him, while preaching intolerance for any and all theists,
except a very select few.
Stu likes accusing others of lying, such as with NM most recently, attacking others views
and beliefs and mocking people. I know many people from the UK, they are nice. Except for
Stu, he is.... Something else. I don't know what else to say about him, really. I don't.
Very intolerant guy to me and others. Not forgiving.
Reminds me of: Stu from Family Guy.
ZZ: Ditto.
I would not put nothing past her. She is capable of turning people on others, using psychology.
Her and Stu acted like Grammar Nazi's towards me (and others) instead of helping us learn
English, even the best of us forget proper English from time to time.
Reminds me of: ??? (Not sure)
The others: CZ.com is an interesting case for group psychology, with that being said,
the other forum posters I did not forget. Some come, some go, some are popular,
some are just background characters or only use the site once in a while.
Reminds me of: The mob mentality of Springfield (see The Simpsons wiki) in other words
Springfield itself, to use an analogy some people remind me of generic TV show's on for
a short while, maybe a few years at the most.
Other notable people: Livmorf: Francis Collins, anyone?
Me: Doctor Who, lol (no, really!)
Thank you for reading this, and yes, there is intelligent life on the internet, esp. on CZ.com
if you look hard enough.
p.s. You're welcome for the free advertising, Cisco :)
Regards for now

The Bigfoot Paradox 2: What Do They Already Know?
The following is from Lon's site Phantoms and Monsters.
All credit goes to Lon.
http://www.naturalplane.blogspot.com/
Ufologist and Cryptozoologist Nick Redfern recently published an extraordinary anecdote that described a friend's encounter with a supposed Bigfoot creature near Tao, New Mexico. The encounter with the Bigfoot was unusual in itself but the abrupt appearance of a military-style helicopter without lights heightened the strangeness. The helicopter then concentrated a spotlight on the beast. The creature "suddenly took off 'at a real speed,' with the helicopter in hot pursuit. Both disappeared from sight as the helicopter’s light grew fainter and utter darkness returned."
Redfern's friend commented "what was the helicopter doing flying with its lights off in the skies of Northern New Mexico in the dead of night? What was the nature of the strange beast that had apparently set its sights upon him? And what on earth was the connection between the two?"
Was this actually a military helicopter attempting to captured a live Bigfoot or, as Redfern suggests, action initiated by another private group? I have previously posted narratives describing the government's apparent attempt to conceal the existence of this creature.
In Cowlitz County, Washington at one of Ray Crowe's Western Bigfoot Meetings, someone brought up the topic of corpses of Sasquatch after the May 18, 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State. The witness heard of two Sasquatch the Army Corps of Engineers had taken out of the volcanic devistation...two months after the initial blast.
Terry Reams heard of a dredging operation of the Cowlitz River and two bodies were found in the sand (probably same case?). A chopper flew them off.
Joe Beelart offered that the crane doing the dredging was from the Manatowaka Company and that the bodies were found two weeks after the Mt. St. Helen's blast of May 18, 1980. He suggested that somebody might want to track down the company and find out who was working the shift that the bodies had been found on.
During a tour of the devastation by helicopter in 1985, the Vietnam veteran helo pilot mentioned a similar tale to Bobbie Short saying there were military helos that choppered out nets full of burned and semi burned elk, deer, bear and something with hairy charred arms hanging out of the drop nets. They were taken to a common pit where the bodies were burned to avoid disease and contamination of the rivers.
Fred Bradshaw also reported dead Bigfoot bodies near Mt. St. Helens to the International Bigfoot Society.
"My father worked for Weyerhauser Co. at Green Mountain ,WA, east of Vancouver. The site has security on their roads to check on the equipment and check closed areas to keep people out. He was working the day Mt. St. Helens blew up. He was at a meeting in Kelso, WA, and as he was a supervisor, when Mt. St. Helens blew it's side out, all heck cut lose.
My father was sent back to Green Mountain right away but like most he wasn't allowed to go very far because of the mud slide coming down the river. He did get to the town of Toutle, WA, on highway 504 off I-5. He and his crew were placed at different spots to watch mud flow and of course help people get out of the blast zone after the major blow up. He was sent to the area of Spirit Lake to keep people out.
When the second major blow up of the mountain came, my father and the other guy with him reported in, and they got out of there. He was then placed in charge of the helicopter landing zone. It was his job to help keep people out of the landing zone and let aid crews in so they could care for injured.
Later on, when all the people were out, the National Guard was brought in to clean up. They hauled dead animals out that they placed in piles; deer in one, elk in another and so on. They were covered up with tarps and later burned.
But my father was placed in charge of one pile of dead that were covered and no one was allowed to go near. Armed U.S. National Guard personal were around this pile, and one day when they were going to move this group of bodies, and my father was very close to it and was told to keep his mouth closed. And when the tarps were removed he saw the creatures, some badly burned and some not. They placed them in a net and lifted them into a truck and covered it over. My father asked a guardsmen what will they do with them and he said study them or what ever...he didn't want to know. He said it's like other things you don't ask, and off they went . AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. My father and the rest were debriefed and sent home.
Below are several links to interesting accounts of government interest and encounters with Sasquatch:
The Nightstalker of Edwards AFB
Sasquatch and the Edwards Air Force Base Surveillance
Bigfoot Recovered - Injured in Forest Fire
Not long after I had posted Oh-Mah - The 'Boss of the Woods' in November 2008, I received an email from a man in southern Washington who stated that he had heard stories from Yakima native people in reference Oh-Mah or Sasquatch after the Mt. St. Helen's eruption. The most prominent account was that of a large male Oh-Mah that was badly burned, but still alive, that took refuge in an area east of the devastation near traditional tribal lands. He was told that government agents in military gear captured the Oh-Mah and airlifted it to an undisclosed location. I have no way of knowing if this is a true account but it does seem to suggest that there was an effort made to take advantage of the eruption in order to capture specimans either dead or alive.
On the flip side, legendary Bigfoot researcher John Green has responded to the contention that the government is hiding a carcass of a Sasquatch that was retrieved from the ruins of the eruption of Mt.St.Helens:
"I’m a pretty seasoned researcher, half a century of it, and I have never encountered the slightest evidence suggesting that any level of government knows anything about Sasquatch, let alone having whisked corpses away by helicopter. Nonsense." - John Green
The notion that the U.S. Government would attempt to procure a Sasquatch, living or dead, and not tell anyone doesn't seem too far-fetched to me. I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature but I am fairly certain that there is a helluva lot of extraordinary and anomalous information that is withheld from the citizenry.
There is proof that the U.S. Government recognizes that these creatures do exist somewhere at in some capacity.
Newly unearthed State Department documents confirm for the first time U.S. Government's belief that the Yeti roamed the mountains of Nepal in the 1950s, a finding that shocked federal officials including the archivist who discovered the papers.
Long written off as a myth, the documents provided by the National Archives show that officials in the State Department, Foreign Service, and U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal, not only believed in "Yeti," but endorsed rules for American expeditions to follow when hunting the creature.
Archivist Mark Murphy said he couldn't believe his eyes when he discovered the long-ignored papers written at the end of the Eisenhower administration. "I thought I was seeing things," he said. "These documents show that finding the Yeti was a big deal in the 1950s. It goes to show the government was taking this seriously."
How seriously?
One foreign service dispatch from the Embassy of New Delhi dated April 16, 1959 describes the many American expeditions involved in mountaineering and monster hunting in Nepal.
"American resources in the last two years have been concentrated on efforts to capture the abominable snowman," the record reads.
In the July 1975, The Washington Star-News "the Army Corps of Engineers has officially recognized Sasquatch, the elusive and supposed legendary creature of the Pacific Northwest mountains. Also known as Big Foot, Sasquatch is described in the just-published Washington Environmental Atlas as being a very large animal of 8 to 10 feet tall, weighing up to 1000 pounds with feet measuring up to 24 inches long. The width of the footprint is up to 10 inches wide, covered with long hair except for face and hands, and having a distinctive human-like form."
In a Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service news release dated December 21, 1977 the following is stated:
What if they really did find the Loch Ness monster or the legendary Bigfoot of the Pacific Northwest?
Most scientists doubt that these creatures exist, but thoughts of the discovery of a new species that might be the closest living relative to man, or the possibility of finding a leftover dinosaur, excite the imagination of scientist and nonscientist alike. It also poses another question: Would such a creature be subjected to the same kind of exploitation as the giant movie ape, King Kong?
Scientists generally believe there are still many species of birds and mammals that have not been discovered because they live in remote areas and their populations are limited. After all, the gorilla and giant panda were only legends until the late 19th century when their actual existence was first confirmed by scientists. The komodo dragon, a 10-foot-long lizard, wasn’t known to science until 1912. The coelacanth, a deep-water prehistoric fish, was known only from 65 million-year-old fossils until 1938 when a specimen was caught alive off the Madagascar coast.
Just last year a Navy torpedo recovery vessel dropped a sea anchor into 500 feet of water off Hawaii. But instead of a torpedo, it hauled up a 15-foot representative of a new species of shark. The dead shark, named megamouth after its bathtub-shaped lower jaw, had an enormous, short-snouted head and 484 vestigial teeth.
To be sure, no remains of today’s legendary “monsters” have ever been found. There are no living specimens in zoos or dead ones in museums. Most certainly, many “sightings” of these creatures are exaggerated or misinterpreted reports, and some are downright hoaxes.
But finding a Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot is still a possibility, and the discovery would be one of the most important in modern history. As items of scientific and public interest they would surely command more attention than the moon rocks. Millions of curiosity seekers and thousands of zoologists and anthropologists throughout the world would be eager to “get at” the creatures to examine, protect, capture, or just look at them.
What would the United States Government do?
Keith Schreiner is Associate Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The service is the Government agency with responsibility for protecting endangered and threatened species. Schreiner says “At least, we have the laws and regulations on the books to deal with newly discovered species.”
Schreiner acknowledged, however, that a good deal of international cooperation would be needed if extremely rare species were found abroad. And finding one on U.S. soil would pose serious problems too, Service officials agree.
Undisputed proof of a Bigfoot might cause an immediate, short-term problem no law could handle. Word of its discovery would be flashed around the world within hours, Hysteria, fear, or panic might accompany the news in the area where the creature was located. The throngs of curiosity seekers, would-be captors, and others wishing to find Bigfoot would not only create a serious threat to the animal itself, but to public safety as well. Some officials doubt whether any State or Federal action short of calling out the National Guard could keep order in the area within the first few hours or days of the creature’s discovery. This could be essential until a team of scientists could do the necessary things to ensure the creature’s survival.
The key law in preservation of a species is the Endangered Species Act, which pledges the United States to conserve species of plants and animals facing extinction. This broad, complex law protects endangered species from killing, harassment, and other forms of exploitation. The Act prohibits the import and export of, and interstate commerce in, endangered species. American citizens cannot engage in commercial traffic in endangered species between nations, even when the United States is not involved. Scientists wishing to study endangered species are required to have a permit issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
But before a creature can receive protection under the Endangered Species Act, a number of actions normally must occur which involve recommendations from the public, scientists, and State and foreign governments where the species exists.
The first of these would he the species’ formal description and naming in a recognized scientific publication. In addition, if it were a U.S. species, the Governor of the State where it was found would be contacted, as would the officials of foreign governments if it were found outside the United States. Only after much information was collected could the Service make a formal determination as to whether the species should be afforded endangered or threatened status…
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purported to be an 8-foot, 900-pound humanoid that roams the forest and wilderness areas of the Pacific Northwest. One “eyewitness” described an obviously female Sasquatch as a “tall, long-legged, gorilla-like animal covered with dark hair and endowed with a pendulous pair of breasts.” It, too, has been described in publications and given a scientific name. In fact, so many people were stalking Bigfoot with high-powered rifles and cameras that Skamania County, Washington, is prepared to impose a fine of $10,000 and a 5-year jail term on anyone who kills a Bigfoot. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers even lists Bigfoot as one of the native species in its Environmental Atlas for Washington. This year the Florida and Oregon legislatures also considered bills protecting “Bigfoot” type creatures. A Bureau of Indian Affairs policeman has 18-inch plaster cast footprints of the “McLaughlin monster,” a Bigfoot-type creature he saw last month in South Dakota.
Under U.S. Law, the Secretary of the Interior is empowered to list as threatened or endangered a species for 120 days on an emergency basis. For endangered species in the United States, the Secretary can also designate habitat that is critical to their survival. No Federal agency could then authorize, fund, or carry out any activities which would adversely modify that habitat.
So long-term Federal protection of Nessie or Bigfoot would basically be a matter of following the same regulatory mechanisms already used in protecting whooping cranes and tigers.
“Under normal situations,” Schreiner said, “we must know a great deal about a species before we list it. How big is the population? Does it occur anywhere else? Is the population in danger of decline? Is its habitat secure? Is the species being exploited? What is its reproductive rate? Obviously, if a Bigfoot really were found we could use emergency provisions of the Act to protect it immediately...”
The news release details what the U.S. Government would do in the event Bigfoot was proven to exist. The fact that the Loch Ness Monster was added to the statement is somewhat curious but it may have been done in order to give the Bigfoot a 'status' equal to the legendary lake monster at the time. The statement does seem to suggest that provisions to protect Bigfoot, regardless of the hominid's actuality, were already in force.
Nick Redfern's account does add another piece to an already complicated Bigfoot puzzle. Will there ever be proof of its existence that most people can agree on? How did it evolve...are these creatures terrestrial, extraterrestrial or interdimensional? The answers to the questions remain a quandary.

Levels of "Intelligence", Supernatural Sasquatch, and the No Kill/Kill Debate
From Frame 352
Levels of "Intelligence", Supernatural Sasquatch, and the No Kill/Kill Debate
"Some are adamant about their opinions on this debate: kill, or, no kill. I'm adamant -- I won't budge -- I'm for a No Kill stance and that's that. Some are less adamant; they qualify their opinions depending on the perceived state of intelligence of the creature. The more human like Sasquatch appears to be, the less likely this type of person would attempt to kill one, but, if the creature is perceived to be "ape like," and more ape, less human, the kill policy reigns. Sasquatch is considered, by some, an animal, less than us, and while clearly intelligent, and astounding in its very existence in terms of scientific discovery, it's still "just" an animal. Still less than us, somehow. And that alone gives some the justification they need to support their kill view.
I don't care if Sasquatch turns out to be "just a big ape," some kind of uber-bear, or an alien. I don't care if the intelligence of Sasquatch is below that of a pinto bean. The intelligence level of Sasquatch should have nothing to do with killing it. I have major issues with hunting, but I do understand the justification for it in terms of survival; if one needs to feed oneself, then I'd be a hypocrite to say one should not hunt for food. If I were to find myself in certain circumstances, I might have to find I'd have to hunt as well. That aside, killing a Sasquatch is a very different issue.
I'll reiterate what I've said so many times before; I don't give a damn if science finds proof of Sasquatch's existence, and certainly not at the expense of a dead body."

Note: I think that killing Bigfoot is wrong but at the same time
neccasary if we want proof that he exists aka a body. Hopefully
though he can be captured prehaps for further study if he in
face does exist and I believe that he does.
Bigfoot appears imo to be either a big hairy ape/hominid
or possibly a creature from another dimension.
