Details of Disappearance

Gibson accompanied 40 of her classmates from Knoxville, Tennessee on a field trip to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park on October 8, 1976. The students were hiking to Andrews Bald on the trip and separated into small groups when they arrived at the trails. Gibson apparently hiked with several different sections of her classmates at different paces during the day. She was last seen at approximately 3:00 p.m. near Clingman's Dome, walking on a moderately steep trail with sharp dropoffs and dense undergrowth on both sides. 

Extensive searches of the park continued until the end of October 1976, but Gibson has never been located. She was a sophomore at Bearden High School at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

Mysterious Sounds In Lake Forest, Oregon

A mysterious shrieking sound has left the residents of one Oregon neighborhood seriously perplexed.


Dave Nemeyer, fire marshal of the Forest Grove Fire and Rescue in Forest Grove, Oregon, told ABC News that he first learned of the strange noise after a local resident recorded and shared a video of it on the city's Facebook page.


"It's definitely a horrendous noise," Nemeyer said. "I have no idea what the noise is. [The resident] described to us that it was coming from the middle of the street. To me, it sounds like the sound of train tracks, that metal screeching sound, but there are no train tracks near her home ... so that's obviously ruled out.".. ABC News


The Police Dept has received hundreds of tips and theories worldwide. An expert sound analysis yielded no results other then the fact it does sound like air escaping through a valve.


If this is not a government test nor hoax, I suspect either a new insect species, biomechanical source underground, something as of yet unrecognized in our sewers (such as new types of organisms making this sound or a type of disturbance that happens underground in or around sewers) and it may possibly be residual haunting sounds, electronic interference or an atmospheric/geophysical type event.

Bigfoot Arm Found?

"I wanted to share my story with you guys in hopes that maybe someone on here has heard about it and possibly has some more info then I have. This sorry takes place about 20 years ago in Coshocton county Ohio. My father came home from work, sat his lunch box down on the table and pulled out a photo copied piece of paper. One photo on the paper contained an arm from about the elbow down to the finger tips. The arm was starting to decay but you were still able to tell what it was. You were able to see bone, skin and muscle.
 The skin that was intact was covered in a dark thick hair. There was a second photo on the paper of just the hand and fingers next to a tape measure. The fingers alone were 9 inches in length and were very human like in appearance.


The second part of the story takes place about 10 years ago. I was at work and on my lunch break when the foreman and started to have a conversation about Bigfoot. I don't remember what sparked the conversation but, I started to tell him about the picture my father had brought home when I was a boy. Before I could even finish, he interrupted me and said, " that's my buddy that found that. He has that arm locked up now in his freezer just waiting for someone to come along that can do something with it." At that point our break was over and nothing else was said about it.


I cant be sure if the arm was found in Coshocton county or, one of the surrounding counties. From what I remember, I was told it was found in a field or and apple orchard. I asked my father about it a few years back but his memory is worse then mine and couldn't remember all the details but he did recall the photos. I wish that I knew more about it but this is all I have to share."

"Here's a fascinating email that I received from a ShukerNature reader on 16 December 2014 (in response to my blog post re the supposed missing thunderbird photo), who very kindly gave me full permission to quote it here. I have this person's full name on file but they asked me to refer to them only by their initials here. Here is the email, which offers a very interesting potential new source for the thunderbird photo, if the photo in the programme concerned is indeed the real thunderbird photo (always assuming of course that there is one!):

"Hi there! Reading your article on the thunderbird and thought I would pass along something of interest. I also remember seeing the thunderbird photo in a book, but in the early 80s. It was something I picked up from the local library and the pic was just like the one somebody described in your comments section. Since I have always followed this story, I was really interested in an old photo shown on an episode of Wild West Tech of all places, a show hosted by David Carradine before he died. This photo showed what looked like a pteradactyl, but it was held by KNEELING civil war soldiers, not nailed to a barn. I was fascinated because it looked real so I paid attention. The episode was not about pteradactyls - ha but the photo was stuck in strangely. I cant remember which episode now, sorry, but I did look for a photo credit at the end, there was none. I googled the show to try to see it online and learn more but it was unavailable. I would love to see that pic again and learn of its origin and possible authenticity. The soldiers might also be muddying the waters for others that saw it in contrast to the barn photo. If you look into it and find any info, please share!!!! Thanks, C.F."

"The discovery of a 10th century Viking artifact resembling the Hammer of Thor has solved a long-running mystery surrounding more than 1,000 ancient amulets found across Northern Europe, according to a report in Discovery News.

The relics, known as the Mjöllnir amulets, appear to depict hammers, which historians have linked to the Norse god Thor. However, this could not be concluded with certainty as their shapes are not conclusive, and none of them contained inscriptions revealing their identity.

However, another similar pendant has been found in Købelev, on the Danish island of Lolland, which is the first one to be discovered with an inscription. "As I have been saying for weeks and predicting they will not find the plane because the authorities deliberately blew it up as soon as it illegally turned from north to west. The reason why they did it was because its two Muslim pilots were on a suicide run. Learning from the actions of the four Muslim pilots in the 911 attacks, the authorities look for the actions of pilots which indicate a suicide run:

1. They cut off all voice communications
2. They disabled all electronics and tracking systems
3. They illegally changed course

The older pilot was angry at his Muslim government because his best friend, a politician, was put in jail for sodomy and the younger pilot was a religious nut who prayed in the mosque everyday. Recently a pilot from Ethiopia hijacked a plane to Switzerland. Flight MH370 Crashed/Went Missing To Unite World Government's?

Flight MH370 crashed/went missing in order to unite most of the world's major governments,
someone told me recently.

Like in Alan Moore's comic book series, graphic novel and movie "Watchmen".

But weren't these government's already friendly towards each other in the first place?

I know the USA and Malaysia are and that the U.S. does business with China, it also
has good relationships with Australia, India, etc. same for many other country's.

Even without the USA e.g. China and Malaysia, Australia and Malaysia, China

ELK POINT, S.D. (AP) — Two South Dakota girls on their way to an end-of-school-year party at a gravel pit in May 1971 drove off a country road and into a creek where their remains lay hidden until last fall when a drought brought their car into view, authorities said Tuesday.

State and local officials held a news conference Tuesday afternoon confirming that the 1960 Studebaker unearthed in September included the remains of Cheryl Miller and Pamella Jackson, both 17-year-olds who attended Vermillion High School.

The investigators showed dozens of photographs of well-preserved clothing, Miller's purse and even her driver's license complete with a smiling photograph. Those personal items and DNA were used to identify the girls, said Attorney General Marty Jackley. Jackson didn't have her purse along.

Glad this mystery is finally solved, albeit a bit too late. This brings to mind many more mysteries of missing people, vehicles and planes from not only here but around the world. Imagine if everyone of us was a detective/PI/investigator btw, almost every mystery might be solved, but then again bad people could use that knowledge to cover up other mysteries, their own too.

"Caught fire. The pilots, thinking it was an electrical fire, turned off all electrical systems they could. (Worry about fire is one reason they CAN turn off everything, including the radios.) Then they turned west toward the nearest major airfield, to try to make an emergency landing.

Unable to put out the fire, they climbed to extreme altitude because the low oxygen content of thin air (there is as much oxygen, percentage-wise, but less air in total, so less oxygen) reduces the intensity of fire and would help put it out. The problem is that to do this they climbed higher than the plane was normally meant to fly, and when you get that high the air is so thin that the stall speed (the speed below which there isn't enough airflow over the wings to keep flying) starts to get dangerously close to your regular speed. So it's very easy to stall the airplane-- it stops flying and starts falling.

Any pilot is trained to recover from a simple stall. In fact all you have to do is put the nose down to gain speed, or in this case drop to a lower altitude where the air is thicker. The plane climbed to 45,000 feet then suddenly dropped to 25,000- looks like a stall and recovery to me.

It is possible they depressurized the airplane at high altitude to try to put out the fire, and then discovered their emergency oxygen masks didn't work. (Multiple failures at once are rare, but when a plane is lost it is often because of several things that went wrong at the worst possible time-- which is one reason such accidents are so rare.) If so everyone on board would probably be unconscious from this point on, and the plane just flying on automatic pilot.

"Personally, I think that is the most likely scenario. While 45,000 feet is above an airliner's usual cruising altitude, 25,000 is below it. I am just guessing here, but I would think an airliner that had stalled and was falling out of the sky from 45,000 should be able to recover before it had fallen that far. But if the pilots had set the autopilot just to keep the plane flying straight and level the autopilot, being dumb, might just keep trying to do that as the plane stays in its stall and keeps falling. This would continue until the mere thicker air at lower altitude allowed the plane to fly out of the stall on its own.

If the pilots weren't incapacitated when the plane went to its highest altitude, the plane stalled, forcing them to lower altitude again. There the fire flared up again, and the pilots were overcome by the smoke.

In any case the pilots were incapacitated, and the plane flew on from there on autopilot, going wherever it happened to be pointed.

It is likely everyone else on board was also incapacitated or dead by the time this happened. We can hope so because if not they were on the wrong side of a heavily armored security door designed to make it impossible for passengers to break into the cockpit-- and they were along for the ride to nowhere with nothing they could do.

Certainly anyone aboard would have tried to use their cell phone, but the range of a cell phone out to sea is three or four miles maybe, and they were hundreds of miles out." -Bill via Amazon Discussions

Missing Malaysian Flight MH370 oddities...

Regarding missing Malaysian airliner Flight MH 370:

"OK - So - Let's rule some stuff out.

1. Suicide is out. The pilot could just ditch the plane - with no need to disable anything.
2. Terrorism is out. No one has come forward to take credit for the lost plane. And, if you wanted to destroy the plane, you just crash it.
3. Theft of the plane for money is out. If money were that important to you, you could extort hundreds of times more than the value of the plane by holding the passengers hostage.
4. Theft of the plane for technology is out. You can just buy one.
5. Military seizure of the plane to arrest political criminals is out. After the targets were acquired and in custody, the rest of the passengers would be sent home.
6. Communicable diseases: Perhaps there was an outbreak of some airborne and deadly virus on the flight. The pilots turned the plane around and headed for the most remote areas of the Earth to keep the disease from spreading. But this does not explain radio silence.
7. Theft of the plane to pack it full of nukes to fly into a major city under the guise of a different plane. U.S. satellites have the ability to track and recognize radiation signatures of nukes. The plane would be shot out of the sky before it reached U.S. airspace. This theory does not explain why no passenger used satellite phone technology to call someone and blow the whistle.
What more should be on this list of Rule-Outs?

List of oddities:

1. Complete radio and telephone silence - last words heard: goodnight tower (no stress or concern in voice). Technological know-how and ability to disable communication systems is extreme - and the pilots should have been able to communicate using alternate forms of communication as systems began failing.
2. Disappearance from all area national radars
3. Disappearance occurred on a calm night.
4. All passengers and crew are cleared of terrorist suspicion
5. Pilots are cleared of suicidal tendencies

Report: Ship detects "pulse" signal in search for jet airliner MH370 - CBS News

PERTH, Australia -- "A Chinese ship involved in the hunt for the missing Malaysian jetliner reported hearing a "pulse signal" Saturday in Indian Ocean waters with the same frequency emitted by the plane's data recorders.

China's official Xinhua News Agency said a black box detector deployed by the ship, Haixun 01, picked up a signal at 37.5 kilohertz (cycles per second). However, Xinhua said it had not yet been determined whether the signal was related to the missing plane, citing the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center.

Malaysia's civil aviation chief, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, confirmed that the frequency emitted by Flight 370's black boxes was 37.5 kilohertz.

Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, Chief Coordinator of the Joint Agency Coordination Center -- the Australian government agency coordinating the search -- said Saturday the Haixun's report of electronic pulse signals could not be verified at this time. U.S. officials from the NTSB and FAA were not able to confirm the report, either.

Houston also said the report of a number of white objects on the water's surface about 90 kilometers from the signal detection area could not be confirmed to be related to the missing plane.

The deployment of Royal Australian Air Force assets to the area where the Chinese ship detected the sounds is being considered, Houston said."

Can MIT Help Solve the Mystery of Bigfoot?

Matt Knapp thinks that Bigfoot research is a mess right now.

“The facts are that in terms of progress, the Bigfoot research community has ultimately made none. We are no closer now to proving these creatures exist than we were 40 years ago,” Knapp told Boston.

Knapp blames the setbacks on the digital age, and the amount of misinformation being spread in the form of photos and videos online. That, and the fact that more people seem to be trying to cash in on what they claim are legitimate Bigfoot sightings. “Self admittedly, up to this point, we have not had anything worth presenting as real evidence of this creature’s existence. If we want scientists to get involved, we have to go by their standards, not our anecdotal ones,” he said.

To help filter out the phonies and fakes all trying to make a quick buck on something he believes in, Knapp is asking those vested in Bigfoot research to rely on technology built out of MIT to prove that the truth is out there.

Knapp, who runs a blog called “Bigfoot Crossroads,” a personal site with updates about all things Sasquatch, recently stumbled upon an invention created by students and researchers in the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in Cambridge in 2012, called “Eulerian Video Magnification.”

"Already, users online have applied the MIT technology to alleged Bigfoot footage that has been floating around for decades. On March 23, a video was posted to YouTube—and later to Knapp’s blog—of one of the most infamous Sasquatch “sightings” in history. Originally shot by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin in 1967, the person that uploaded the clip applied the EVM technology to try to determine if blood pulses could be detected through the use of the software. Why I Think It’s Very Possible That the Missing Airliner Is in Central Asia - Slate.com

"I’ve been covering the story of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 for four days now, and it’s settled into a rhythm. Every day, new evidence points to a conclusion that beforehand would have seemed laughably absurd. We publish an analysis of the situation that seems most likely to us. Readers scoff. Further evidence emerges that reinforces the once-crazy notion, and some proportion of the doubters come around. Then even more implausible information turns up, and it’s off the to the fringes again.

My post from this morning, in which I asserted that the plane is most likely in western China or an adjacent Turkic area, stands out for having received an extra measure of skepticism. “Impossible,” many have declared, in comments and over Twitter. So I’d like to go back and further explain my logic in coming to the conclusion I did.

The first thing I want to make absolutely clear is that my entire premise is based on today’s statement by the Malaysian Prime Minister, and the accompanying chart showing two arcs where the Malaysians believe MH370 happened to be when the ping was detected by satellite at 8:10 a.m., Malaysia time. If that assertion does not hold up, then everything I’m about to say falls apart..."

MALDIVES RESIDENTS REPORT SIGHTING -news.com.au

EYEWITNESSES claim to have seen a low-flying jumbo jet “with red stripes” similar to that of a missing Malaysia Airlines jet flying over their houses in the Maldives, local media reports.

The Maldivian daily newspaper Haveeru reports residents described a white aircraft with red markings similar to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 passing overhead about 6.15am on March 8.

The claims, which have not been confirmed, follow reports of radar and satellite signals indicating the missing airliner could have followed a track in that general direction.

The holiday islands are about halfway between Malaysia and the east coast of Africa.
It’s about 3200 kilometres from Malaysia — placing it at the extreme edge of how far flight MH370 could travel.

TOMNOD USER SPOTS PLANE — BUT IS IT MH370?

A Taiwan university student who has assisted the search effort by scouring satellite images on the website Tomnod claims to have found an image of Flight MH370.

The Taiwan China Times reported that the image had not yet been verified and the surrounding jungle landscape had yet to be identified.

Three million people have joined the effort to locate the missing plane on Tomnod, in what may be the largest crowdsourcing project of its kind.

The satellite firm DigitalGlobe, which owns the Tomnod platform, said that its search area now has some 24,000 square kilometres (9,000 square miles) and that more images are being added daily, including a new area in the Indian Ocean.

The company said more than three million people had participated in the program, with some 257 million “map views’’ and 2.9 million areas “tagged’’ by participants.

The response was so great it overloaded the system’s computers for a time last week.

It is unclear whether the above Tomnod image even shows a Malaysia Airlines plane. Commentators have suggested the coloured ring towards the tail seems more like the paint scheme of Qantas than Malaysian Airlines.

The plane kept flying until 8:11 am or after. I wonder why no passengers
attempted to use their cell phones, PDA's, etc? Does 8:11 or after have to
do with 9/11 by any chance?

I also wonder if this was a random act or deliberate. It seems it was planned.
Premeditated. A criminal act.

One or both pilots are responsible for this imo. However the two Irans on board could also have had a key in this as well.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

(CNN) -- The timing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370's change of direction is a focal point of the investigation into its disappearance, and it appears the passenger jet was programmed to steer off course before the pilots signed off with air traffic control -- and that the change of course was transmitted to air traffic controllers.

The flight's Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System communicates various data to the ground, including engine reports, maintenance requirements and weather conditions.

The last transmission from Flight 370's ACARS system came at 1:07 a.m.

The next update was due at 1:37 a.m. It never came.

While all information so far indicates that someone inside the cockpit, believed to be the co-pilot, made the last verbal communication with air traffic controllers -- "All right, good night" -- at 1:19 a.m., a law enforcement official told CNN that the plane's programmed change in direction was entered at least 12 minutes before the plane's verbal sign-off...

Report: Chinese site may show plane debris images

"KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Satellite images on a Chinese government website show suspected debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner floating off the southern tip of Vietnam, near the plane's original flight path, China's Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday.

The revelation could provide searchers with a focus that has eluded them since the plane disappeared with 239 people aboard early Saturday.

The Xinhua report said the images from around 11 a.m. on Sunday appear to show "three suspected floating objects" of varying sizes, the largest about 24 meters (79 feet) by 22 meters (72 feet)."
